Jung & Astrology: Cosmos & Character

Apr 30, 2020

Astrology is a 4000-year-old discipline rooted in the mystery of man’s relationship to the universe. It is an archetypal frame for human experience that influenced Jung, depicts our connection to the heavens, and anticipates future trends.

We are now beginning an approximately 38-year Pluto-Saturn cycle—and Covid-19 has appeared at its outset. Pluto is associated with the underworld; Saturn is a stern taskmaster and enforcer of boundaries. The virus is forcing us to face fear and death—and also consider what egoistic attitudes may need to die. We can relate to these dark times with despair or as opportunity to create a healthier relationship with self, community and earth.

The Age of Aquarius inspires the possibility of greater consciousness, for which Jung strove in his life and work. We can attend to planetary influences that point the way ahead.

Dream

“I am on or in the ocean. Not sure how I got there or where I am going — also strangely not in something. From my left a huge ship appears. In the “window” of the ship there is an elephant and a giraffe next to each other. They “smile” at me as they pass me as if to say goodbye and there the ship disappears on the horizon. Then I wake up. I am now left with the image of Noah’s Ark but can’t make sense of the symbolism.”

This is so good! Could we get a part II? I’m reading Aion and looking for any supplemental material to go along with it, I’d love a podcast on it. It’s very timely for these times, yes?
