Introducing a New Podcast: MYTHS MORALS & MONEY with Berry Liberman, Lisa Marchiano, Deb Stewart & Joseph Lee (Episode 1)

Apr 25, 2020

What are the myths that drive our current economic system?

What shadows within us all fuel the overconsumption of this planet?

What new narratives do we need to help us create a new economic system? Exploring our current economic system and planetary crisis through a Jungian lens, join Dumbo Feather magazine co-founder Berry Liberman in conversation with co-hosts, three Jungian analysts from This Jungian Life, Joseph Lee, Lisa Marchiano and Deborah Stewart. Each episode, they will discuss and analyse the myths that drive our current economic system, the shadows within us all that fuel consumerism and overconsumption, and consider the narrative that needs to be created to pivot us to a new economic system, all within the context of what is happening in the world right now. Check out the first four episodes on the Dumbo Feather website

Episode 1: A New Story

In this episode we begin to unravel what drives the economy, and the narratives that underpin how the economy operates in the world and in us. We consider who the gatekeepers of the current economic system are and what the organising principle of money is … and what it could be.

What are the myths that drive our current economic system?

What shadows within us all fuel the overconsumption of this planet?

What new narratives do we need to help us create a new economic system?

As we begin to analyse the economy as if it were a person, we look at what narratives are driving the economy and how these narratives live within us all. We discuss who the gatekeepers of the economy are and whether they are those who hold the financial wealth, or whether in fact, the gatekeepers are inside all of us. Berry also shares her own personal story to explain why the urgency to help create a new economic system is so alive in her.

My desire is to have such conversations, in my living room, in my neighbourhood, . . . with people who put signs on their lawn during the election that read, ‘talk to me about climate change’ The topic of values and major change is on everyone’s mind, even the people who are hanging on to the last threads of their past dynasties.

This was inspiring, and delightful and wonderful.

Thank you!! I look forward to more!

I loved the first episode.Looking forward to listenting to more. Yes! A huge mindshift is needed by both our leaders and everyone else regarding the economy. It’s no accident Covid came when it did. The old system is no longer working. Dialogue is the first step and then hopefully within the next 1 or 2 generations things will be different in a better way.We need to rise to our potential as human beings and not become human machines.
